The Dove Awards are given to songwriters and performers to recognize excellence in the genre of gospel, spiritual and Christian music. This award was first established in 1969 by the Gospel Music Association. Most recently, the award ceremony was held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
