Brand Name

A word that identifies and distinguishes the source of the goods or services of one party from those of others.


Registered Trademark

A registered trademark is a trademark the Patent and Trademark Office has accepted and registered for a certain class of goods. Registered trademarks are identified with an ®.


Mnemonic (ne-mon-nik)

A symbolic representation of corporate name or a brand name. Mnemonics where introduced in ancient times to help people (litrates and illitrates) recall a person or a group which held it.

Logo


The word "logo" is short for "logotype." Sign, name, or trademark of an institution, firm, or publication, combination of letters and art work to create a "sole" entity symbol of that specific unit.


Emblem

A picture with a hidden meaning, the meaning is "cast into" or "inserted in" the visible device. For example, a balance is an emblem of justice, white of purity, a sceptre of sovereignty. (Greek, en-ballo, which gives the Greek emblema.)


Insignia

Insignia (the plural of Latin insigne: emblem, symbol) is a symbol or token of personal power, status or office, or of an official body of government or jurisdiction. Insignia are especially used as an emblem of a specific or general authority.
