Shaped CDs - Tips on Production and Duplication
More and more companies have used Shaped CDs and DVDs as a
marketing tool for promoting or bundling with their products
and services.
However, some prospective customers may find that there is
noisy and non-workable when playing Shaped CDs and DVDs. It
was because of un-sophisticated design and production on a
shape of discs.
To produce a high quality of Shaped CDs & DVDs, the
following guilds should be considered:
The CD/DVD must have at least three opposite edges
touching the edge of a standard CD/DVD.
The CD/DVD must be symmetric in design.
There should be no sharp edges in the design of the CD.
All Curves and edges along the path of the CD must be at
least 4 mm in diameter or greater.
A standard 1-2 mm wide border will be applied between the
edge of the artwork and the edge of the CD.
The CD should have stacking ring at the back for a size over 8cm of diameter.
In order to minimize your production costs, you should
consult with your CD/DVD Manufacturer before finalizing a
shape of CDs.
