Fungal Infections

Similar to bacteria and viruses, fungi are everywhere. They appear as bathroom "mold", spores in the air, and even as normal flora in the body. Fungi can cause overtly pathogenic or opportunistic infections. In endemic areas, infection rates can rise to 90% of the population, although most of the individuals may be asymptomatic.
