Instructions

A coddled egg is slow cooked and has a soft, cream - like white.

  • Prepare a pot of boiling water and have a cover available.

  • Place (room temperature) eggs in water, cover and remove from or turn off heat.

  • Leave eggs for 5 minutes in water.

  • Hint

  • It used to be said that if you take the egg from the water and the shell dries by the time you count 7 or 8, then the egg is coddled.
