Description


Bicycle motorcross consists of racing bicycles around a dirt track. The track is most often irregular in shape with sharp u-turn curves with high banks. The course is constructed with jumps and ruts to provide obstacles for the rider and to impede their progress.

Injuries are common in the sport due to contact with other cyclist and the failure to navigate obstacles correctly. Protective gear is usually required for the participants that include a helmet, shoulder pads, knee pads, and protective footwear.

The race is made up of laps. Each lap is equal to one time around the track. The first person to navigate the required number of laps around the track in the shortest time period is the winner.
