Andrey Kolmogorov (April 25, 1903 - October 20, 1987): A prominent Russian mathematician who made major advances in the fields of probability theory and topology, and is considered one of the founders of algorithmic complexity theory. Earlier in his career he worked on intuitionistic logic and Fourier series. He also worked on turbulence and classical mechanics.
